How to Keep Both You and Your Client Safe After COVID-19

How to Keep Both You and Your Client Safe After COVID-19

Is your province or state on their way back to opening soon? Do you think it's too soon? What are some measures you're going to be taking to help clients know you're doing your part?

We've put together are a few tips to help keep you safe and put your clients at ease.

〰️ First and foremost, follow your local regulations and capacity guidelines.

〰️ Update your clients prior to their appointment with your new protocols so they’re made aware of the changes and you can answer any concerns they may have.

〰️ One client per service provider—absolutely no extra guests.

〰️ Upon arrival, ask your client to wait in their vehicle if they’re early.

〰️ No personal contact exchanged other than what it is required for their appointment—remember, you’ve got other clients too.

〰️ Schedule extra time in between clients for enhanced sanitation measures.

〰️ Pull linens for efficacy. Wipe down all surfaces your client has come into contact with including door knobs, hooks, handles and point of sale system.

〰️ Thoroughly wash your hands in between each client (something you should be doing already)

〰️ Ask your clients to reschedule if they are unwell. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

While some of this is already pretty standard being in the beauty industry, it’s important to reiterate all of this to your clients to give them peace of mind

THE BIG DEBATE

Will you be requiring your clients to wear masks during their appointment? As someone that is working in extremely close proximity to someone's face, we're not taking any chances. We're going to make it mandatory within our boutique.

Hi [CLIENT NAME],

The health, safety and well-being of our team and guests is our top priority. To help reduce the transmission of COVID-19, we will be implementing a few changes for the time being.

  • Absolutely no extra guests during this time
  • We ask that a mask is worn during your appointment and because we are in very close proximity to your face there will be no exceptions.
  • If you are sick please reschedule. Cancellation fees will be waived. If you come to your appointments and are visibly ill or are displaying symptoms you will respectfully be asked to reschedule for everyone's safety.
  • If you have travelled outside of the province recently, or may have had close contact with a person considered a likely or confirmed case of COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment.

Hygiene and cleanliness have always been of utmost priority. We always follow Alberta Health Services standards and protocols and go above and beyond their guidelines.

We disinfect our workstations between each guest and include extra barriers whenever possible—as such, you may see us in aprons + masks. The majority of our supplies are disposable. Anything that cannot be used is thoroughly sanitized in between each use.

We are enhancing our safety measures by disinfecting higher traffic areas such as our front end and restroom. We will attempt to keep hand sanitizer available whenever possible however, we encourage you to wash your hands instead if there is none available (shortage of stock has been present everywhere).

We are committed to providing comfortable and safe experiences within our space. If you are feeling unwell, please call us to reschedule your appointment.

We can't wait to see you soon.

Cheers,

Jessica and The OutLash Team
